We have one central message at City Life: heaven now… Heaven forever!
Unfortunately, many think eternal life is about deferred gratification, that we have to forsake all things wonderful in this life in exchange for all things better in life after death. When we devote our lives to Jesus, become a follower of Jesus, not only does He promise that we’ll live forever but that our life now will be full beyond comprehension, full of meaning, purpose, significance, satisfied more deeply than we can imagine. A foundational verse for us is Psalm 27:13 (nkjv), “I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of The Lord in the land of the living.” Yes, there is a place we all one day long to be, Heaven, and until Jesus calls us home, He promises heaven on earth (John 10:10)!
We want to bring our message to “three people” throughout this region: the undevoted, the disconnected, and the discipled.
Together at City Life, we want to reach the undevoted with a clarion call to liberty. Every person born into this world is longing to take their first spiritual breath, for their God life to be born, to be free from a life that is helplessly driven by the selfish inclinations of humanity. Through Christ, we can be forgiven of our past, reconciled to God, and launched into a divine destiny! Then there is the disconnected, a growing population of people in every community. Churches can unfortunately be a place where people are disappointed, even hurt. We want to reach the disconnected with a clarion call to community. Each of us are incomplete apart from the family of God. City Life is a place where people’s trust in local church is being restored! And let’s not forget the discipled…we are going to reach the discipled with a clarion call to maturity. None of us have the freedom to settle with wherever we might be in our personal journey of spiritual growth. Let’s keep growing, lets’ keep changing, let’s keep endeavoring every day to be more like Christ!
